Guests at  Maquil must be at least 18 years old.

 

Airports and Transportation

Zipolite is served by two airports, Puerto Escondido and Huatulco, both are about a hour away. To reach Maquil you can either take the authorized taxis from the airport or save a little money by walking out of the airport grounds where there will be other taxis waiting.

 

Cash and ATMs

Many of the larger restaurants and businesses accept credit cards but you will need some pesos.  ATMs are scarce and unreliable so we recommend bringing cash or using an airport ATM.

 

Check-in

Check-in time is 3:00 but you are welcome to arrive early and make yourself comfortable.  We will have your room ready as soon as possible.  Please inform us if you will be arriving late at night or before 7:00 am.

 

Check-out

Check out time is 12:00 noon.  We will do our best to accommodate a later checkout but often need to prepare rooms for arriving guests.  You are still welcome at Maquil after checkout time even if we need your room.

 

Payment

You can pay your bill in Pesos, US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, and Euros. MasterCard, Visa Credit, and Amex Cards are also accepted.

 

Smoking

Smoking is allowed in private patios and outside. Smoking is not permitted in rooms or interior spaces. We prefer that guests do not smoke in the restaurant even though it is open air.

 

Pets

Our old house dog Louise will welcome you but not your pets.

 

Bringing your guests to Maquil

Your friends are welcome. Just check with us if you plan to bring many people.  Parties are not allowed.

 

Maquil guests are welcome at our next door partner hotel Casa Sol where there two additional pools including the Ocean Pool which is clothing optional.  Kaiaks, snorkeling equipment, and beach chairs are available.
